Couturier, Giroux Lead Flyers To 8-5 Win

Ilya Bryzgalov makes an incredible save on Kris Letang.

With the Flyers taking Game 1 in incredible fashion, the Penguins could ill afford to head into Philadelphia down 2-0 in the series.

Game 2 would come with even more incredible action.

Just like the series opener, the Pens came out firing on all cylinders.

Sidney Crosby netted one only 15 seconds into the game, the quickest goal ever scored against the Flyers in playoff history.

With Nicklas Grossmann taking a penalty for Hooking, Chris Kunitz scored a Power Play goal and put the Penguins up 2-0.

The Flyers once again found themselves with their backs up against the wall, and Laviolette took one of his patented timeouts in an attempt to rally the troops.

Nicklas Grossman, who is visibly hurting due to a knee injury, took a holding penalty just minutes after.

However, the Flyers were able to net a shorthanded goal, with Max Talbot cashing in on a rebound off a Claude Giroux shot.

But as they have been all year, the Flyers fell victim to a last second goal.

Paul Martin scored off of a feed from Sidney Crosby with just 17 seconds left, and the Flyers went into the dressing room down 3-1.

The Flyers didn't get the nickname the "Comeback Kids" for nothing.

After Sidney Crosby took a penalty, Claude Giroux went top shelf on a wrister to pull the Flyers within one, 3-2.

One category the Flyers have been fantastic in all year was Shorthanded Goals, and the Flyers scored two in Game 2.

The second one came off the stick of Claude Giroux, who played give and go with Max Talbot before burying one in the back of the net.

But as quickly as the Flyers scored, they found themselves down again.

SIX seconds later, Chris Kunitz broke down the ice and deposited his second goal of the night, making it 4-3.

The Penguins got a last second goal, and the Flyers matched them there as well.

With 2.4 seconds left in the 2nd, Sean Couturier deposited a rebound goal into the back of the net.

So both teams went into the 2nd intermission tied 4-4, and all of Pennsylvania was on the edge of their seats.

A little over a minute into the third period, Tyler Kennedy scored to make it 5-4.

Yet the Flyers never die, and 19 year old Sean Couturier was able to deke around Marc-Andre Fleury and tie it up 5-5.

There was one guy missing from this series: Former Penguin great Jaromir Jagr.

But he made his presence felt 9 minutes into the 3rd, manhandling Ben Lovejoy and scoring a spin-o-rama goal.

The Penguins try as they may, but Bryzgalov was able to stone the Pens all throughout the 3rd. And with 1:49 left in the 3rd, Sean Couturier at the tender age of 19 scored his 3rd of the night to make it 7-5.

Sean Couturier looked like a man among boys tonight. The Flyers selected Couturier with the 8th overall pick in the 2011 NHL Draft, a pick received in the Jeff Carter trade.

Claude Giroux poured a whole lot of salt in the wound, getting his own hat trick and tallying the final goal at 8-5. Giroux finished with 6 points on the night, a Flyers playoff record.

This team continues to amaze every time they take the ice. Any lead is capable of being overcome, and they can score whenever they please.

The Comeback Kids head back to Philadelphia up 2-0, with all the momentum in the world.
