The guessing game is just not my thing. I suggested earlier in the week that Tebow would end up in his hometown of Jacksonville. I could not have been more wrong.
The Jets traded a 4th and 6th round pick to Denver for for Tim Tebow and a 7th.
On paper, it looks like a pretty good deal.
Only problem is, Tebow does not fit in New York. Not even a little bit.
The Jets committed $40 million to Sanchez when he signed his 3 year extension. For that reason alone, Tebow will find himself as the number two QB.
That leaves Tebow to play only one role: wildcat. With Shonn Greene and Joe McKnight usually running the formation, the University of Florida graduate will bring a whole new dimension.
But will it be worth it?
We know Mark Sanchez can be fragile, and the acquisition of Tebow can only destroy Sanchez's morale. Everywhere he looks will be Tebow! Tebow! Tebow! And the Jets expect him to go out there this year like there is not a target on his back.
If he plays this year like he did last season, Jets fans will run him right out of town.
Even worse, the combination of Rex Ryan and Tim Tebow is almost laughable.
I do not really want to refer to Rex Ryan as the NFL's anti-Christ, but...Rex Ryan is the NFL's anti-Christ.
And with all the press attention Tebow received in Denver, it will be ten times worse in New York.
There will not be one day that goes by where Tebow will not find himself on the cover of the New York Daily News, his face plastered next to some horrible pun pertaining to his religion.
For a team that was already a media disaster last season, it will get no easier on the Jets this year.
