After a long awaited release, Brendan Shanahan has finally announced that James Neal and Arron Asham of the Pittsburgh Penguins will be suspended.
Asham has received a 4 game suspension, and James Neal received a one game suspension.
Finally, Brendan Shanahan has gotten this one right.
Asham received his 4 games due to a vicious crosscheck to the throat of Brayden Schenn, then proceeded to beat him down while on the ice.
Neal received his suspension because of his charging penalty on Claude Giroux, but not for his vicious hit on Sean Couturier.
Neal missing Game 4 hurts the Penguins severely. In the 3 games so far, Neal had 2 goals and 3 assists. His offensive contributions will be missed, especially because Pittsburgh is on the verge of elimination.
Craig Adams will also be suspended for Game 4 for his instigator penalty late in the 3rd period. Head Coach Dan Bylsma was fined $10,000.
Here is the James Neal video.
The Asham video has been released as well. The video shows 5 games, but the Asham suspension is for 4 games.
