Temple Ousted In First Round By UMass

In what was the most disappointing A-10 tournament game for Temple in recent memory, they lost to UMass (22-10) by a score of 77-71. Temple, who won the A-10 tournament from 08-10, was eliminated from A-10 tournament play with today's loss. 

Temple went into the half winning 36-31, and all signs were pointing Temple's way. However, Massachusetts started the second half on a 15-0 run, and built up a 10 point lead. Ramone Moore hit 3 consecutive 3 pointers to bring Temple within six, but it just was not enough.

UMass will play the winner of the St. Joseph's- St. Bonaventure game Saturday at 1:00 PM.

Starting Center Micheal Eric, Ramone Moore, and Juan Fernandez are all Seniors, and this is will be the last time they will play in the A-10 tournament.

Temple's top scorer today was Khalif Wyatt, who 15 points on 5-8 shooting. Juan Fernandez chipped in 12 points, and Ramone Moore finished with 14.



For UMass, guard Jesse Morgan led all scorers with 21 points. Fellow guard Chaz Williams put up 20 points on 5-12 shooting.


UMass will play the winner of the St. Joseph's- St. Bonaventure game Saturday at 1:00 PM.
